Main plan for today was a trip to Olympic Park. This complex was built for the 1976 Montreal Olympics (though some of it, inluding the observatory, wasn't completed til 10 years later). Now you would think a big tower would be easy to find, well if you did then you'd be wrong too! So anyway when I finally found it (!) and concentrated on not slipping in the ice I thought that'd cover any traumas I was due today but alas no, read on ...

16Olympic Stadium I had thought I was fine with my stock French phrases, 'thank you', 'hello', 'I don't speak French' and 'do you speak English' however one that wasn't on my list was 'am I buying a ticket for the correct event' who knew that without this phrase I'd end up paying $12 to go to an Animal Expo! I arrived at the Olympic Stadium and joined the queue to buy tickets for what I thought was to tour the stadium. Well it kinda was, but what I actuall was paying for was for the Expo IN the stadium

26The Montréal Tower So after the brief, unexpected, detour to Pet Expo we went to the observetory - our original destination and after a bit of swithering a ticket for the Montreal Tower Observatory was bought - now I can't prove this but I think it was mostly due to how far we walked that we went up, kinda justifying walking miles... ;)
